Anne-Marie & William’s Wedding, St. Colman’s Cathedral Cobh and The Vienna Woods Hotel, Cork.
I met the Australian boys at the aptly-not named ‘Bella Vista’ Hotel in Cobh and with the fog you could barely see St. Colman’s Cathedral which is just opposite. Pity really as Cork harbour is often compared to Sydney’s harbour as the other biggest natural harbour in the world, that’s if we could see it! Then on to catch the preparations with the girls who were being looked after by Hairdresser Colette Byrne and Caroline Drake of VIP Beauty Rooms Carrigtwohill. John Daly provided the music for the ceremony and his powerful voice filled the acoustics of the Cathedral. My plan ‘B’ had to come into action as the fog didn’t lift and if anything the rain got heavier. We headed for the cover of The Cobh Heritage Centre, a special ‘Thank You’ to the staff there, and I would highly recommend a visit. It was then on to The Vienna Woods Hotel where Mary-Ann and Michael were waiting to welcome the wedding guests. As I wasn’t allowed to mention the Ireland v Australia rugby world cup game, I’ll mention a bit of devilment by the Bride as the Australians were all placed at the South Africa table!
